The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, has officially launched the new registration process for the Benazir Kafalat program, following special instructions. This initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to supporting the poor and deserving individuals. This article aims to provide complete guidance to those who wish to register but are unsure of the process. It will also assist women previously disqualified from the program due to various reasons. Additionally, information about the upcoming payment cycle for current beneficiaries will be provided.
To register for the Kafalat program, individuals must meet specific eligibility criteria and provide necessary documents. The criteria include possessing a Pakistani identity card, residency in Pakistan, no family members being government employees, a family income below Rs 60,000 per month, and no outstanding bank debts. Widowhood qualifies women for registration. Required documents include a scanned copy of the identity card, proof of monthly income, and utility bills.
Those with a monthly income exceeding Rs 60,000, government-employed family members, non-Pakistani residents, individuals lacking Pakistani identity cards, those with a poverty score above 32, and individuals with a history of international travel are ineligible.
If eligible, individuals must visit the nearest Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) office to complete the registration process. They should bring all necessary documents and obtain a survey token from the office representative. After receiving their token number, they will proceed to the survey registration room, where they will answer various questions and have their fingerprints verified. Upon completion, they will receive an SMS confirmation. Registration can only be done in person at the office; online registration is not available.
Women previously disqualified from the program can follow the same registration procedure to reapply.
Beneficiaries already receiving financial assistance will receive their next payment earlier, in May instead of June, on May 13th.
