Will there be school, bank holidays in Islamabad on Jan 23, 24?

Islamabad, schools and universities were closed on January 22 due to a security threat. However, there is a fake message circulating on WhatsApp claiming a two-day holiday on January 23 and 24. The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad clarified that this message is not true, and there are no holidays on those dates.

A post on social media by DC Islamabad labeled the notification as “Fake” and warned people not to believe it. The false message caused concern among the public, stating that schools, universities, private companies, markets, and banks would be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Islamabad holiday update

On Monday, the capital administration closed several schools and universities in Islamabad as a precaution due to the security threat. Bahria, Air, and National Defence Universities had also issued directives for the closure of academic activities.
