TTP commander among 10 terrorists arrested in Punjab

As reported by the Pako TV channel on Saturday, the CTD carried out 117 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in different regions of Punjab in recent days, resulting in the arrest of ten militants, including five from Lahore. According to official sources, one of the detainees is identified as Qasim Afghani, a commander affiliated with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), who, along with four associates, had devised a plan to execute a terrorist activity.

Additionally, five other individuals with terrorist affiliations were apprehended in Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, and Sargodha during these operations. The CTD officials have disclosed that the operations took place in Lahore, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, and Sargodha.

Furthermore, they reported the confiscation of explosive materials, hand grenades, firearms, mobile phones, and cash from the individuals who were arrested. It was revealed that these terrorists had intentions to target sensitive installations, as conveyed by the officials.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Agha Nauman, Ataur Rehman, Usama, Siddique, Shahnawaz, Sufyan, Safdar, Abdul Haq, and Qasim Afghani. According to the CTD, in the past week, a total of 225 suspects were apprehended in 359 combing operations. The officials have indicated that those taken into custody were planning attacks on critical installations.
