The government plans to waive test fees for disabled candidates

The temporary Chief Minister, Mr. Syed Arshad Hussain Shah, has decided that disabled people don’t have to pay any fees for tests conducted by the Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA).

The government in charge of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to cancel the test fees for disabled individuals participating in all types of tests conducted by ETA.

He mentioned that disabled individuals taking screening tests will not have to pay any fees, as stated in an official announcement. This decision was made during the 31st meeting of the ETEA Board of Governors, which Mr. Shah chaired on Monday.

In the meeting, the temporary Chief Minister, Justice Retired Syed Arshad Hussain Shah, announced a significant relief for special people. The meeting was attended by Caretaker Minister for Higher Education Dr. Qasim Jan, Secretary of Higher Education Arshad Khan, Secretary of Health Mehmood Aslam, and other board members.

The decision was made to waive the test fees for disabled candidates participating in any ETA test. Additionally, a committee will be formed to create a process for getting rid of mobile phones. This committee, led by provincial Minister Justice (R) Irshad Qaiser, will look into legal and technical aspects and propose a plan for disposing of cell phones confiscated during screening tests.

The meeting also addressed issues related to preventing cheating in Board Examinations and Tests under ETA. A plan was established to effectively prevent the use of modern technology for cheating in exams and tests. Furthermore, it was decided to identify networks supporting candidates and take strict action against them.
