In Sehwan, there was a surprising theft reported on Friday. The manager of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar shrine is accused of stealing gold worth more than Rs 10 million, as per ARY News.

The person in charge of religious affairs, Umar Soomro, fired the shrine manager, Zubair Baloch, and told the authorities to file a case against him for the robbery.

The religious affairs department says that gold worth Rs 12,372,863 was taken from Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar shrine in the last month. The spokesperson for the religious affairs minister mentioned that the manager, Zubair Baloch, admitted to the theft in front of an inquiry committee.

Umar Soomro, the temporary minister, ordered a stop to the manager’s pension and transferred the case to the Anti-Corruption Department.

Reports are suggesting that an under-training DSP from District South Police is also involved in the robbery. About 20 million rupees, 70 to 80 tola gold jewelry, and other valuable items were stolen from a house in Orangi Town. The police have given back half of the stolen cash, gold, mobile phones, and a laptop.

It is said that the suspected police officer’s special team has been engaged in illegal police raids before. Additionally, sources mention that the police are pressuring the victim to avoid filing an official complaint about the incident.
