Seminar Encourages Young People to Support Women's Security

The University of Sargodha (UoS) Department of Sociology and Criminology organized an event on Wednesday. They had a walk and a talk about stopping violence against women. The theme was “Strengthening Voices to Eliminate Violence against Women.”

The purpose of the event was to make people more aware and share practical ways to stop violence against women. The Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mian Ghulam Yasin, led a walk from the College of Pharmacy to the Wazir Agha Library. Many students, teachers, and important guests joined the walk.

During the walk, students held signs, banners, and colorful posters to show their strong wish for a society without violence against women. Seminar Encourages Young People to Support Women’s Security.

Speakers at the event included Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mian Ghulam Yasin, Dr. Qaisra Ismail, Mr. Shah Nawaz Khan, Dr. Saira Shafi, and others. They talked about the problems of violence against women and how to stop it.

In the seminar, they talked about real-life examples from Islamic teachings that support women’s rights. They mentioned that 90% of women face abuse in their communities. They said we need to stop violence against women right away to make the world a better place where all women are protected from unfair treatment, abuse, and harm.

Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Mian Ghulam Yasin said in the end, “It is our shared responsibility to create a society where every woman can live without fear of violence.”
