During the event at the Waterloo Chamber, renowned actors like Ray Fearon, a former Coronation Street star, Lucy Phelps, Sir Simon Russell Beale, and Dame Harriet Walter graced the stage. Royal expert Richard Palmer shared photos and videos of King Charles and Camilla from the ceremony on Twitter, where he mentioned that they led a royal group celebrating the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s First Folio, which is held in the royal library at the castle.

The report also reveals that King Charles has been interested in Shakespeare since his boarding school days when he played the title role in Macbeth in 1965. Commenting on Charles and Camilla’s presence in the front row, one observer said: “I felt there was total appreciation and familiarity; the room was silent as they listened and laughed at the nuances.” The First Folio, published in 1623, comprises 36 plays, including 18 that would have been lost if not for its publication.
