Punjab HEC Indigenous PhD Scholarship 2024 Apply Online

The Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) is looking for qualified individuals to apply for the Indigenous PhD Scholarship (IPHD). This scholarship is for people who want to do a PhD at any public or private university approved by the Punjab government. You can study subjects like Science & Technology, Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities, Business & Management Sciences, and more.

Punjab HEC Indigenous Ph.D. Scholarship Announced by Punjab Government

If you get selected for the Ph.D. in science and technology, PHEC will give you a monthly stipend of PKR 100,000. For arts and social sciences, the stipend is PKR 50,000 per month. This support will continue for three years. You need to submit your application online by January 28, 2023.

Punjab HEC Indigenous PhD scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the Punjab HEC Indigenous PhD scholarship, you must:

  • Be from any district in Punjab.
  • Have an MS/MPhil degree from a local or foreign university without any third division or grade D in your academic career.
  • If applying for a Ph.D. scholarship, you must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0) or first division in your MS/MPhil/Equivalent degree.
  • Have a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and approved study leave from your department if you are employed.
  • Be under 40 years of age (45 for females) on the closing date.
  • Commit to not taking any other job during the three-year scholarship period.
  • Seek admission to a public/private university in Punjab within 9 months after getting the scholarship letter.
  • Science and technology candidates must provide a financial support letter from the industry, showing a minimum monthly support of Rs. 10,000.

Applicants Not Eligible:

You cannot apply if you are already benefiting from any other HEC/Government scholarship for a Ph.D. or if you are already doing a Ph.D.


The scholarship covers 36 months with a monthly stipend of Rs. 50,000 for Social Sciences, Arts & Humanities, Business & Management Sciences, etc., and Rs. 100,000 for Sciences & Technology.

How to apply for the Indigenous PhD Scholarship

To apply for conference funding, please complete the application form (click here) and send it with a cover letter to the VC/Rector/Principal of the hosting institution. visit the PHEC website by January 28, 2024. Make sure to send a complete hard copy of your application to the provided address by January 31, 2024, before 05:00 PM through registered post only.

  • Submit your application at least 42 days (6 weeks) before the event.
  • We appreciate early submissions.
  • Unfortunately, late applications will not be considered.
