Ongoing MDCAT Controversy: Court Halts Proceedings with No Resolution in Sight

The admission test for Sindh’s Medical & Dental College (MDCAT) is causing a problem, and now it’s in the Sindh High Court. Some students said the test taken again on November 19 had its questions leaked and sold for a lot of money. They also said the retake exam questions were just like the ones from September 10. Some students got perfect scores, which made people worried about how fair the test was.

The students’ lawyers asked the court to stop the officials from making a list of who passed and from starting the admissions for the 2023-24 session. The Sindh High Court listened to the arguments, and the acting chief justice, Aqeel Ahmed Abbasi, told the officials not to do anything more until the court said so. This includes the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council and others.

The court also said that the people defending the case, like Dow University of Health Sciences, have to give their answers by December 21.
