Manzoor Pashteen of PTM Detained in Chaman on Accusations of Shooting at Police

Manzoor Pashteen, the leader of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), has been arrested by the police. He is known for leading protests against the government. The arrest happened because, during a routine check by the police, Levies, and FC near the Chaman Gate, the people with Pashteen allegedly attacked the officers instead of cooperating with the inspection. The officers then shot at the tires of Pashteen’s vehicle.

Pashteen and his group initially escaped, but he was later found and arrested in a warehouse after a search operation. The local authorities say that Pashteen and his aides attacked the security forces during the routine checks. Although he managed to escape initially, he was caught after the search operation.

The Deputy Commissioner mentioned that a case has been registered against Pashteen for firing, and his associates are also accused of attacking security personnel. According to the PTM spokesperson, Pashteen was addressing a gathering when the officers fired at his vehicle near the Chaman Press Club. The PTM claims that several bullets hit the vehicle, injuring a woman who is now receiving medical treatment in the hospital.
