IDP Introduces IELTS One Skill Retake Feature in Pakistan

People in Pakistan who are getting ready to take the IELTS test, which is a popular English language test worldwide, now have a new feature to help them get the score they need for their education and career goals.

This new feature is called “IELTS One Skill Retake,” and it’s now offered in certain IELTS test centers in Pakistan. With this feature, if someone doesn’t get the score they aimed for the first time in one of the four skills (Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking), they can retake just that specific skill.

This One Skill Retake is recognized by important institutions like UK Visas and Immigration, the Australian Department of Home Affairs, and others. Test takers can check if their institution accepts One Skill Retake on the IELTS website.

Imad Chaoui, Regional Director, MEA, EU & CIS, mentioned that this new feature gives test takers another chance to reach their study and migration goals. The Country Director of Pakistan, Mr. Humayun Bin Akram, explained that they introduced this option because test takers wanted the flexibility to retake only one skill instead of the entire test.

IELTS One Skill Retake is available for both Academic and General IELTS in cities like Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, and Gujrat. It will be expanded to more centers in the coming months.

Those who choose IELTS One Skill Retake will receive a new Test Report Form (TRF) with their updated score. Depending on their score, they can decide whether to use the old or new TRF for the skill they retook.

It’s important to note that the recognition of IELTS One Skill Retake for migration or study purposes is still growing. IELTS is working with countries and organizations to accept this option, and test takers should check the website for updates.

Warwick Freeland, Managing Director of IELTS at IDP Education, emphasized that this new option shows IELTS’ commitment to helping individuals achieve their best scores and supporting organizations in finding the right candidates.
