Historic Surge: Pakistan Witnesses Unprecedented Spike in Egg Prices

The cost of a pack of eggs in Pakistan has gone very high, and it’s the highest it has ever been in the history of the country.


The latest information from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) shows that now, on average, people have to pay more than Rs. 420 for a pack of twelve eggs.

This high cost is seen in many cities like Islamabad, Peshawar, and Faisalabad, where eggs are being sold for Rs. 420 per dozen. In Sialkot, the price is a bit lower but still high at Rs. 410 per dozen.

Even in cities like Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Larkana, Multan, Quetta, and Bannu, the cost of eggs has reached Rs. 400 per dozen. Khuzdar and Sukkur have a somewhat lower price of Rs. 390 per dozen according to the PBS data.

In Karachi, Bahawalpur, and Hyderabad, the rates are comparatively lower at Rs. 380 per dozen. This increase in egg prices is affecting people across the country.
