Gold Prices in Pakistan Approach Record High, Reaching Rs. 240,000 Per Tola

The price of gold in Pakistan is steadily climbing, inching closer to the all-time high mark of Rs. 240,000 per tola. On Wednesday, according to data released by the Karachi Sarafa Association, the price of gold (24 carats) saw an increase of Rs. 1,800 per tola, reaching Rs. 238,900, while the price of 10 grams rose by Rs. 1,543 to Rs. 204,818.

This increase follows a slight dip of Rs. 500 per tola on Tuesday, marking the second increase during the current week. Notably, on Monday, the price of gold had risen by Rs. 1,800 per tola. The surge in gold prices in Pakistan mirrors the trend seen globally, with the precious metal experiencing a significant uptick.

During March alone, the price of gold surged by Rs. 19,100 per tola in Pakistan, largely driven by an increase in international prices. In the international market, spot gold witnessed a 0.4 percent decrease, settling at $2,271.50 per ounce as of 0958 GMT, while US gold futures saw a 0.5 percent increase, reaching $2,292.
