In Pakistan, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, who is a brain scientist, has been in an American prison for about 20 years because of accusations related to terrorism. Sadly, she has reportedly experienced sexual assault two times during her time in prison.

It has been revealed that Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, a Pakistani neuroscientist imprisoned in the United States, was sexually assaulted at least twice, according to a report by 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

Dr. Aafia Siddiqui is 51 years old and was given an 86-year prison sentence. Her lawyer, Clive Stafford Smith, shared that she went through sexual assault while in detention. He mentioned that the government of Pakistan is aware of these terrible incidents, as Dr. Aafia told him about the difficult experiences she faced while in custody.

Dr. Aafia’s lawyer, Clive Stafford Smith, disclosed this information and stated that the Government of Pakistan is aware of these incidents of sexual assault on her. He mentioned that Dr. Aafia informed him about the sexual assault, leading to the filing of a complaint.

Mr. Stafford also mentioned that a complaint was filed regarding the sexual assault, but unfortunately, no action has been taken on it. According to him, Dr. Aafia was first sexually harassed in a place called Bagram detention in Afghanistan, as part of a way to force her to give information.

Stafford Smith revealed that Dr. Aafia was sexually assaulted in Bagram prison as part of an interrogation tactic. He further expressed that Dr. Aafia, currently serving an 86-year jail term in the USA on terrorism-related charges, faces daily abuse and torture. According to Smith, the Americans used rape as a tool to extract information from her.

He also said that Siddiqui continued to experience both physical and mental torture during her time in detention.

Recently, Fowzia Siddiqui had a meeting with her sister Aafia Siddiqui at a prison hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, USA. The meeting, lasting for 44 minutes, was initially scheduled for December 2 and December 3 but was delayed as authorities claimed to have lost the prison’s key. This marked the second meeting between the two sisters in 20 years, with the first one taking place in May after Aafia’s lengthy imprisonment.

Recently, after 20 years, Aafia Siddiqui had a second meeting with her sister Fowzia at a prison hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. The meeting lasted for more than 40 minutes, and Senator Talha Mahmood and Aafia Siddiqui’s lawyer were also present.

In 2010, a US Federal Court sentenced Pakistan’s neuroscientist, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui, to 86 years behind bars. She was found guilty of firing at US troops in Afghanistan while in their custody, along with six other charges against her.
