Cabinet Gives Green Light for Permanent Status to 227 Daily-Wage Teachers

In Islamabad, the government’s top leaders agreed on Wednesday to make 227 temporary teachers permanent. These teachers have been working in government-run colleges for a long time.

The meeting, led by interim Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, discussed various topics, including the regularization of these 227 teachers. They decided to approve their permanent status.

A few months ago, the education ministry had already made 137 temporary teachers of grade 16 and above permanent. But the case of the remaining 227 teachers, who had taken the required tests, was sent to the government’s top leaders for a final decision. Now, on Wednesday, the government approved their regularization as well.

This decision resolves the issue for college teachers, but there are still about 1000 temporary school teachers of grade 14 waiting for a decision. These teachers have been working in government-run schools for over ten years, asking for their jobs to become permanent, but so far, no decision has been made.
